My story began on a farm in a traditional community in Mexico, about six hours from Cancun. We travelled by horse and buggy. We had no vehicles and no hydro lines, and when evening came, everything went quiet and dark.
Life was simple, but family was always close.
Growing up, I spent my mornings and evenings around the table with my parents and my family. Most days we worked and lived right alongside one another. Those ordinary moments taught me something I understand far more deeply now. Time with family is one of God's greatest gifts.
After we moved to Canada, life changed completely. Today I am a father of seven, and like a lot of parents, I work long, physically demanding days. Often nine, eleven, sometimes twelve hours away from home.
Most mornings I leave before my children wake up, so I rarely get to sit down to breakfast with them. By the time I get home, everyone is tired, myself included. Some days it feels like the best parts of them are passing while we are apart.
I kept asking myself one hard question. If I keep living this way, how many of these years will go by before my children are grown?
I knew something had to change. Not because I am afraid of hard work, but because my children deserve more than what is left of me at the end of a long day. They deserve my time, my attention, and the chance to learn and work beside their dad.
That is why our family started Williams Co.
Our dream is to build an online coffee business that lets us spend more time together at home. We want our children in it with us, learning responsibility, picking up real skills, and seeing what it means to build something together as a family.
Coffee fits that dream. Some of the best moments in life happen when people sit around a table, share a cup, and really talk.
We do not know exactly where this will take us. But as a family we have decided to begin, to work together, and to trust God to lead us.
